FOG HARBOR WINES

Drinks Holdings, LLC asked me to update Fog Harbor Wine, one of its portfolio products, as part of an overall redesign of its Wine Insiders portfolio. The intent was to modernize the overall look of all products, as well as to appeal to a more modern clientele with bold and simple graphics. The added challenge to this task was to maintain the Fog Harbor heritage of a nautical theme without nautical visuals already used by competitors (sea serpents, pirate ships, boats, the ocean, etc.). I pitched the idea of exploring maritime nautical flags as a way to graphically spell out Fog Harbor. The flags would be embossed and would have an extra gloss overlay for an eye-catching shelf appeal, as well as a tactile sensory appeal, for both novice and seasoned sailors. While we ultimately deviated from the true-to-form color coding of the International Maritime Signal Flags, the final colorful flags featured on the label, which coincidentally spells out the word "W-I-N-E", maintained the nautical heritage of the brand with a modern and memorable design.

STARLIGHT RIDGE WINERY

I was asked by Drinks Holdings, LLC to create an interesting story and eye-catching visual brand for a family of Australian wines to be sold on Martha Stewart Wine Co., one of its e-commerce platforms. The intent for the tone of voice and the visual branding was to engage a broad range of consumers across many marketing channels in what makes these particular Australian wines memorable. Another request was to create a cost-effective, yet eye-catching and modern visual brand identity that would be applied to all five wine varietals. These goals were executed by creating vector artwork of the Milky Way as inspired by the Australian Aboriginal style of painted works. The average human's ability to see the Milky Way with the naked eye is unique to Australia, so it was only fitting to feature it in the graphics.
