META SPARK AR STUDIO
Meta’s Spark AR Studio was a Mac application that allowed artists to craft captivating augmented reality effects and filters for social media sharing on Instagram and Facebook. Spark AR effects were a creative way to share new dimensions to virtual spaces, such as showcasing the opening of a new venue or a behind-the-scenes look at a fantasy world. Meta decommissioned Spark AR Studio in January, 2025.
CASE STUDY 1: LAOS SUPPLY
Laos Supply is a streetwear clothing company founded by designer Salong Namsa in 2018. Specializing in Southeast Asian-inspired graphic tees, jerseys, and hoodies, the brand celebrates and promotes Laotian culture, heritage, and cuisine. I was commissioned to create two Instagram face filters to boost brand awareness and customer engagement.
CASE STUDY 2: MoWT x #gettymuseumchallenge
While at Wunderman Thompson, my colleagues and I participated in the #GettyMuseumChallenge. The goal of our virtual team-building event was to support the museum's mission of publishing uplifting content and building community through art. I contributed by designing Instagram face filters and sharing the creative production process inspired by some of my favorite fine artists.
SPECULATIVE AUGMENTED REALITY CONTENT
Below are videos of various augmented reality filters I created and published on Instagram for public use before the platform decommissioned Spark AR in 2025.
